W&Co help drive sales at BMW Park Lane

Following success with previous car showroom display projects at BMW Westminster, W&Co were invited to produce a range of light boxes for a new state of the art showroom in Mayfair, London - BMW Park Lane. A selection of illuminated and non-illuminated fabric face displays were custom made to showcase a wide range of classic and modern BMW models on display. The frameless, chrome finished units, many LED illuminated, compliment the high quality brand and create a stunning backdrop within the contemporary showroom space.

One particularly large format Fabric Face LED light box (find out more here: http://www.w-co.co.uk/fabric-face-light-boxes-wall.php), within the Motorrad display area of the showroom, reaches five and half metres high and actually spans two floors of the building.

The lightboxes were chosen not only for their high quality build and frameless design, but also because they offer the client the flexibility to easily replace and/or reuse the dye-sublimation printed textile graphics. W&Co Fabric Face systems offer a front loading graphic change whereby a rubber lip easily pushes into the face of the unit by hand without the need for specialist tools or installation teams.

W&Co Signage flying high at Stansted Airport

Business magnate, Mohamed Al-Fayed, is the proud owner of a brand new £12m luxury private jet centre at Stansted Airport, in Essex, and W&Co were privileged to be awarded the contract for supplying and installing the huge "fayair" illuminated built up letters to both sides of the high-spec hangar complex built by LPL Construction.

W&Co worked closely with the LPL Construction team over 4 days to overcome the difficult task of lifting the giant 4m high individual letters into place using a 53m lifting platform – the 6 letters on either side of the complex span a massive 15m, the biggest illuminated built up letters (for more info click here: http://www.w-co.co.uk/built-up-lettering.php) that W&Co have ever supplied. The letters were manufactured from RAL 'Sky Blue' powder coated aluminium and halo illuminated with high quality LEDs. Oversized flat cut letters (click here for more: http://www.w-co.co.uk/flat-cut-lettering.php) were installed behind each of the letters and finished to match the colour of the external hangar cladding to act as a reflector plate and to ensure even halo illumination.

Mr Al Fayed visited throughout the project and personally told the site team that he was very impressed with the high quality of all the work undertaken.

If the above project has caught your eye why not check out the new custom signs section of our website. We have a broad range of illuminated signs, built up lettering, flat cut lettering, sign trays, post and panel signs and monoliths.

Many of these signs can be completely custom made to suit your requirements. For more information please see the following link:  http://www.w-co.co.uk/custom_signs.php

Simply Be Light Up High Street

Simply Be, the catalogue brand that specialises in larger size womenswear, wanted to bring their plus-size fashion range to the high street and has opened two brand new stores in Liverpool and Bury with an aim of giving customers the ultimate shopping experience. This fantastic shopping experience is enhanced by the large format illuminated graphics positioned around the new stores which adds to the wow factor the stores generate. Simply Be knew they wanted large format light boxes (click here to see more:www.w-co.co.uk/large-format-lightboxes)for the new stores and when they saw W&Co's LED Fabric Face light box systems they knew they had the perfect solution.

Simply Be Fabric Face light boxes

Utilising the frameless Fabric Face light boxes (click here to find out more: http://www.w-co.co.uk/fabric-face-light-boxes-wall.php) in both 40mm and 100mm depths, the store was designed to have a range of light boxes installed from the entrance all the way through to the state of the art changing rooms at the back. The Fabric Face system is so versatile that the same profile can be used in a variety of locations and sizes without compromising the look and functionality of the display. A large majority of the 40mm deep LED light boxes, the 'Fabric Face 40' were manufactured at 2.7m high x 750mm wide, a size not realistically possible for snap frame light boxes, and these were cleverly mounted to a sliding rail system which revealed shelving for extra stock of clothing behind. The 100mm deep 'Fabric Face 100' light box was reserved for even bigger light boxes with the largest being 2043mm x 1865mm installed at the end of the cash desk. These units can be fully recessed which allowed them to be used not only flush and surface mounted but also within a custom built desk.

Another advantage of using W&Co's Frameless Fabric Face system is that when the store comes to change their artwork it can be printed onto the special backlit material and simply posted to the store for the shop staff to fit themselves within minutes, without having to rely on a team of specialist shop-fitters to update their image. This will make a big saving over the coming years. The energy efficient LED's will also make a big saving on the stores electricity costs which could be up to 80% less than if they had installed fluorescent tube illuminated displays.

In addition to the graphic light boxes we were also given the opportunity to supply some more architectural feature lighting in the form of the LED Illuminated Ceiling Discs which were hung from the ceiling in the Bury store. We custom built the 2300mm diameter ceiling discs using the same principal of the Fabric Face graphic light boxes but just leaving the tensioned fabric unprinted and plain white. Normally ceiling lighting like this can be extremely expensive but our fabric face system offers a high quality alternative at a fraction of the cost.

BOOTS DIGITAL COUNTERS SHINE
An innovative light box system was developed for Boots The Chemists, for trials in Glasgow Fort and London's Sedley Place. Utilising three A1 Katana light boxes in series to illuminate the punchy graphics displaying the high quality digital and traditional processing services that Boots offer. Light boxes have proven to catch the customer's eye and it follows that this should make it quicker and easier for the customer to choose the service they require before reaching the counter. The light box system was tilted at a 10° angle for easy viewing for the customer and was suspended on a specially developed steel cable system. Format Manager, Lisa Ellis commented, "The light box system looks very modern, is a beacon for the photo department and is really driving customer awareness of the breadth of processing services that Boots offers". If the trials are successful it is hoped that it could be rolled out to all shops with photo counters to enhance the POS within the stores.

Printing & display services - Updates: "HARVEY NICHOLS BRIGHTEN UP MENSWEAR
Top fashion outlet Harvey Nichols decided a light box would be a fantastic medium to brighten up their in-store display by introducing illuminated informational signage to the Menswear department.

The scheme was to assist customers with navigating around the department, as it had previously lacked directional signage and the proposed bespoke Hercules light box with informational graphic would be the ideal solution.

W&Co produced the custom sized light box and inkjet printed the backlit graphic which was fitted into the light box which was delivered on schedule and was well received.

ABBEY ILLUMINATES DARK NIGHTS
W&Co supplied and installed the prestigious Katana ultra slim light boxes to a number of Abbey banks around the country as part of their re-branding. This was successfully completed and created a wonderful showcase for Abbey's new marketing message.

As light boxes have been proven to significantly increase not only customer traffic but also sales, Abbey were very keen to utilise them to experience the benefits first-hand. Market research by a leading European bank which had the light boxes in their windows found that banks using the double sided ultra slim light boxes on pole systems enjoyed more than a 30% increase in sales.

The Katana double-sided A0 light boxes fixed to a specially manufactured pole system in the banks' windows maximise the advertising area to customers inside the bank and potential customers outside. These were complemented by single sided Katana ultra slim light boxes mounted onto the walls making the most of previously unused advertising areas.

Abbey were so pleased with the look of the A0 light boxes that there is a potential to use A2 double sided Katana light boxes above the ATM machines inside the banks

I was really impressed with the improvements of DealTime's website. I can't remember last time I checked them out but I used to rate their site as secondary to Pricerunner and definitely Kelkoo. I think they have surpassed them now.

W&Co Light box wall for BMW Park Lane

W&Co supplied and installed Titan light boxes (http://www.w-co.co.uk/titan_light_box.shtml) at the new BMW Mini show room in Park Lane. The Brief was to create an illuminated wall, consisting of 12 light boxes, each being 2.1 metres square in a 3x4 configuration and a London at night graphic stretched accross the entire wall. Due to the size of the light boxes and the need for a frameless finish, the Titan light box with a pvc facia was decided upon. After further planning, various sizes changed as the boxes had to fit around a mezzanine floor and supporting RSJ. BMW also required the light boxes to be dimmed at certain times of day. For this to work, the internal electrics of the light boxes had to be specialy equipped with electronic dimmable ballast and low voltage wiring. After much planning and preperation, the light boxes plus an additional 4 non-dimmable versions were produced and fitted into the new showroom. An image of a New Mini Cooper S on a racing track was stretched across these boxes which was installed into an alcove, making them appear flush to the wall. The main 12 light boxes, were installed on a 7 metre high wall, as a backdrop across 2 floors. The finished display turned out very well, and BMW Park Lane were very happy with it. The Showroom is open from December 1st 2004, Park Lane, London.
